In 1974 Wesley Stepp made a visit to Haiti to find a few men who would like to study the New Testament Church. The trip was a success, which later became a training program for other countries to equip men to lead growing churches. Since then BICM has continued its work in 14 countries, resulting in the planting of 174 churches. Four of these churches have reproduced themselves with two that have sent out workers into other countries.
The Focus of BICM
- To recruit volunteer instructors of various backgrounds to make frequent trips to teach.
- To provide a quality education for nationals, taking the school to the people. Many who study in the U.S. do not return to their country.
- To train the preachers to lead their people to fund the start of a new work, support the whole agenda, make their own decisions, and establish their own goals.
- For a national church to plant a new work in their country or another geographical location.
- To reproduce the training, (II Tim 2:2)
- To enter unreached and Islamic countries with video ministry for training servants.

BICM is directed by Dr. Wesley Stepp out of Jacksonville Florida, who has been with BICM since it's beginning in 1974.
